TOURETTE'S SYNDROME
According to the National
Tourette's Syndrome Association , Tourette's
syndrome and Sydenham's chorea may be one and the same.
If this is the case, victims of this condition may find
some answers in the monumental albeit forgotten works of
the late, great Edward C. Rosenow. Rosenow served with
distinction, as head of experimental bacteriology, for
nearly three decades with the Mayo Foundation. His work
specifically referred to Sydenham's chorea (or St.
Vitus's Dance) from 1923 (Am. Jour. Dis. Child.
26:223-241, 1923) to 1958 (Am. Practitioner and Digest
of Treatment, Phila., 9(5), May 1958, p. 755-761.)
