88H1: Shakman, S.H., "Cuyugan's Malaria Treatment; Aid vs AIDS?", AAAS Pacific Division Proceedings Vol. 7:42 (1988):

ABSTRACT: In 1941 Filipino Dr. Eutiquiano Cuyugan treated approx. 40 malaria patients as follows: Blood (10 cc) was drawn from the arm, put in a culture dish for 2-3 mins. (swirled a bit to keep coagulation even), & injected into the same patient's buttock muscle. After 8-10 hours the site of injection became red. After 1 day chills would cease but fever remained. Over 2-3 days, fever would diminish and then disappear. By the 4th day patients could generally resume normal activity. A dose of about 3cc was not effective for a 10-year-old but a subsequent dose of about 5cc was. Cuyugan's son Roberto performed the procedure on others and self and believes it safe, suggesting possible use against AIDS.
