Poth [49B1], points out that "Most textbooks do not mention
this type of treatment", citing 2 contemporary books (1938-43)
with no mention of autohemotherapy, and one which made one
mention of it.
Poth reports having cured 137 of 141 cases of herpes zoster
with autohemotherapy. 27 received one injection; 21, two; 77,
three; and 16 received four injections. "These 141 patients
averaged 2.5 injections and obtained complete relief of pain in
5.22 days, although severe pain had usually subsided before the
2nd or 3rd injection was given. ...
"Injections (10-15cc) were given every third day until relief
of pain was reported by the patient."
