AUTOHEMOTHERAPY FOR PSORIASIS, HERPES SIMPLEX AND HERPES ZOSTER
OFTEN SPECTACULAR [37B3]
"The one disease in which we particularly would like to commend
the use of autohemotherapy is herpes zoster. In fact we have
been so favorably impressed with the results obtained that it has
become routine in the office in the treatment of this disease.
... no case has ever failed to respond." The authors assert that
the use of autohemotherapy in psoriasis, herpes simplex and
herpes zoster "has often been spectacular."
AUTOHEMO TECHNIC 37B3
Jones and Alden [37B3], p. 736, "8-10cc of fresh blood are
withdrawn from the cubital vein and immediately injected into the
gluteal muscle at weekly intervals, using along with it mild
local applications." In contrast to more complex methods, "The
simpler method most commonly used at the present time is
intramuscular injections of the freshly withdrawn blood before it
has had time to clot, a nethod first introduced by Ravaut in
1913."
AUTOHEMO SAFETY 37B3
Jones and Alden, 1937 [37B3], "Moutier and Rachet (1923) say
that they have had no serious by-effects in 400 injections of the
patient's own blood in 70 cases."
AUTOHEMO EXPLANATION 37B3
Jones and Alden [37B3], 736, note "there has never been a
completely satisfactory explanation of the mechanism of
autohemotherapy."
