AUTHŽMOTHERAPIE FOR TUBERCULOSIS - 12E4
AUTHŽMOTHERAPIE FOR INOPERABLE CANCER - 12E4
The term "autohemotherapy" was first used in the INDEX MEDICUS
in reference to G. Landmann-Darmstadt's 1911 article, which
article was actually entitled "šber auth„motherapie" [12E4]).
Landmann-Darmstadt had advocated the subcutaneous reinjection of
autologous blood-serum for tuberculosis and inoperable cancer,
referring to the prior weork of Gilbert in the case of pleuritis.
Also in 1911 C. Oliva [Zeitschr. fur Klin. Med., Berlin (1911),
289-297] had discussed the "physical chemical changes in the
blood after bloodletting and subcutaneous injection." This
included "kryoskopie", "viskosit„t", "electrische leitf„higkeit",
"oberfl„chenspannung", and "refraktometrie".
